Here are some tips to make your Disney vacation more enjoyable:
  • Tickets - With so many ticket options, it can be confusing sorting everything out while standing in line. Get your tickets ahead of time and same both time and your sanity. Here are a few places to try for discounted tickets: Orlando Discount Tickets and TicketMania.
  • Requirements - Knowing the height requirements of your favorite ride in advance will save hurt feelings. All of the info you need is available at the Disney World Website.
  • When to Visit - Try coming when the lines are shortest and the weather mild. September, October, January and February are our favorite times to visit.
  • Reverse it! - Try heading to the back of the park first and working your way forward during the day. Also, visit the most popular rides during lunchtime or when others are watching the parades.
  • Get a Magicard - Visit Orlando Info to get discounts of meals, shopping and more in the Orlando area.
  • Birds Eye View - For an amazing view of the fireworks at the Magic Kingdon, make a reservation at the California Grill (at the Contemporary Resort - 407-939-3463) for 30 minuts before showtime.
  • Plan your Itinerary - Plug in your kids ages and interest into the planner at the Disney World Website and get a customized plan for the day.
  • Switch it up - Avoid the common problem of who gets to stay with the baby by getting a rider switch pass. Mom and the big kid can go first and request a rider switch pass from the ride operator. After their done, Dad can skip the line with the pass. Genius!
  • Meet-n-Greet - The characters hang out in from of the Magic Kingdom when the park opens, so the lines to meet them are long. Cinderella and all of her friends are in the park all day long so skip the early morning lines and meet them during the day.
  • Eat Early - Be sure to grab lunch in the parks early, between 11:00 and 11:30. The restaurants fill up quickly after that and don't even start to slow down until after 2:00.
  • Snacks - Most people don't know that they can bring their own snacks and drinks to the parks. Pack some frozen water bottles too for the long, hot afternoons.
  • Break time - Crowds start to thin at the parks around 6:30. Consider heading back to your house for a rest period sometime during your day and then hit the parks again at night.
  • Book early - Wanna catch a character meal or special show? Book these extra early as they fill up quickly.
